Hypnotherapy is the induction of a trance like state either through self-hypnosis or under the guidance of a trained hypnotherapist.

You may not be aware that trance is in fact a naturally occurring state that everyone experiences regularly on a day to day basis. You are more than likely familiar with many of them; the driving trance, the exercise trance, the book reading trance, the meeting tranceā€¦to name but a few.

Hypnotherapy is subject to many misconceptions and contrary to popular belief does not create a state of deep sleep or one where you lose control of your actions or behaviours. More importantly hypnotherapy can in no way force you to do anything you are not comfortable with, but can create tremendous feelings of empowerment. During a hypnotherapy session you will actually be in an enhanced state of awareness and one where your attention is narrowed and focussed on the subject matter you have chosen to explore.

Through the imaginative use of hypnotic language patterns and metaphors I will be able to guide you in to a deep state of relaxation. As your focus on my words increases and you experience an increasing state of calm you will be able to move your attention away from your analytical conscious mind to your more intuitive and deep seated subconscious mind. It is here, deep in your subconscious, that the most profound and enduring changes in beliefs and behaviours will occur.
